Break in the Storm
Caught up in the middle of all the madness that Christmas week brings, we ran down
to Campus Point after work on December 22nd, 2010, to get a Christmas photo.
We got a bit more than we expected. In fact, we got an early Christmas present.
The sun shined bright as the rain poured down, and an amazing double rainbow stretched
across the sky.
And if that wasn’t enough, there were some fun waves rolling through.
Seeing as we got there so late, there wasn’t time for a surf, and barely enough light for some
surf shots.
But we got a few.
The waves were surprisingly clean considering the weather we’ve had.
There were just a handful of guys on it, getting plenty of fun waves.
Runoff be damned….
It was a photogenic evening, to be sure.
Of course Doug Yartz was on it, working his Grouper hard.
And his bud Matt Sevilla was in town for the holidays, enjoying
Goleta’s charms.
But while the surf looked fun, the real show was the sunset.
We weren’t the only photographer on the scene for this special show.
Just another day in Goleta.
Merry Christmas.
