Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday

1

Spring has definitely sprung. You can tell by the beautiful weather, the green hills, the blooming wildflowers, the howling wind, and the flat ocean. But thank God for the wind swell. And how appropriate that The Man Upstairs hooked us up on Easter morning with a fun little wind swell.

We got there early and had the rare treat of surfing Sands all alone.
Started at the creek and worked our way back to the point with all the peaks empty.
Before long, the boys woke up and paddled out into glassy, warm conditions.

Like Randall Rostoker said, it was classic Sands, with occasional size and an
occasional wave that would hold up long enough for a nice long ride.
Like this guy’s enjoying.

Of the dozen or so guys that were out, one guy kept catching the waves and my
lens, and he was the youngest guy out there.
That’s Clay  Pfaendler, a San Marcos freshman, making himself at home and
finding all the eggs.

Looks like this guy dipped his board in the egg dye before he came to the beach.

These dudes were dominating the lineup, snagging any wave they wanted.
They think they own the place. One of them even dropped a deuce in the water.

By mid morning, the crowd was swelling, and the day was
calling, so we took one last look at a gorgeous Easter morning.
