The change of seasons in Goleta.
Some folks laugh at the notion.
But longtime locals can tell when summer is winding down.
Surf wise, swells start coming from the north, intermittently,
mixed with the scraps of south energy that mange to sneak in the windows.
No matter the details, Fall usually brings some waves
that go nicely with the still warm temps.
The nice thing about mixed swells is that it can be a little tricky to figure out for the Internet
watchers, and crowds don’t show up in masses like on a big winter swell.
Another subtle sign of the season change is water temp.
We start to notice trunking it isn’t as much fun as it was in August.
And of course the days start to get a little shorter.
Making those after work sessions a little more rushed.
The air seems so fresh and clear in the Fall.
But the most beautiful aspect of the changing seasons would be the sunrises and sunsets.
Autumn skies bring amazing colors, letting us know a change is in the air.
So enjoy the change of seasons Goleta Style,
and partake in another local Autumnal ritual……..
….pray for rain.
