March in Goleta. Always a mysterious time, weather wise.
We never know what to expect, so we expect everything. The weather report ends with
question marks and the surf report comes up with a blank.
This Monday evening, we got a little more than we expected when a decent pile of
waves came slamming into our shores.
It was no surprise to the local boys, who were out in force, taking full
advantage of the situation.
Nick Eggemeyer, off the lip.
We could tell right away, with these clouds, there was going to be a sunset to reckon with.
And to have waves with that sunset, frosting on top of frosting….
As the sun dropped lower, the sky got more amazing, and the waves
held up. Not many guys were rushing to get out of the water.
Micaiah Furukawa, racing a section.
As the light got lower, so did the photo quality.
But the colors……..unbelievable.
And no, this is not a photoshop jack up session.
If you were there, you know.
Nice wave, great ride.
We’re not usually a big fan of the Monday, but when your Monday ends like this,
it’s hard not to be stoked.
Have a great week!
