Spring Greens
It’s that time again.
The little bit of rain we got brought the spring out of the winter. Brown hills erupted into green
and bone dry creek beds miraculously transform into flowing, mossy streams.
Spring is when the winter surf starts to peter out, and the winds kick up.
Combined with the rainfall that we may get, it makes for a perfect time to head up to the hills.
We made a point of getting up there a couple of times this spring, and it was well worth it.
One trip was in the rain, and if you’re prepared, it is a great time to camp.
No crowds, had the whole place to ourselves!
Everything’s so fresh after a spring rain.
Even the poison oak looks pretty.
The dogs enjoyed it as much as we did.
“C’mon, let’s go!”
Happy hour, back country style.
Every year we get reminded how lucky we are to live around here.
Back in town, we saw the by product of high winds. Good old Goleta wind swell.
Just a handful of guys were on it, and it looked like they were enjoying it.
Kennedy Stone was one of them.

Kennedy Stone was one of them.
Vinny Leonelli, doing what he does, shredding.
We’ve never shot Trae longboarding before and it was impressive.
He makes nose riding look way too easy, even on quick little wind swell waves.
Vinny was just back from the North Shore,
so he was getting re-acquainted with our funky little beach break.
Powerful good surfing. Vinny just keeps getting better.
Turtle made an appearance, but was still shaking from his first session in a one mil spring suit,
so he didn’t stay out long.
Kennedy Stone, stylin’ on a nice little left.
It’s great fun watching these friends surf together,
and to see their different styles continue to develop.
Happy spring!
Viva Goleta.
