The East Side
Doesn’t look like Goleta? Or even California?
Definitely, not Goleta. But actually California
Baja California. Very close to the bottom, and a little up to the right.
A land governed by Mexicans, but owned mostly by retired, surfing boomers, mostly San Diegans,
that knew a good thing when they saw it; and took action. Ahora, San Diego Nuevo.
What could be a better combination?
Warm dry air, like Palm Springs, but adjacent to a surf playground.
Even the jellyfish are beautiful.
Agua mal.
It’s more comfortable in the water than on the beach.
No doubt, this is a beautiful place.
Now a quick round of …..what’s different about Mexico:
Public utilities.
A thriving pirate industry.
This.
The drive to the grocery store.
The beauty of a rental board.
Over friendly locals.
The water.
The lizards carry a little more weight.
This is considered a mediocre surf day.
And miles of empty coastline.
A nice change of pace.
Still, there’s no place like home….
