Aftermath
While the fires in our foothills are always a stressful experience, the aftermath is bliss.
This is exactly what the chaparral needs to replenish itself.
The generous but mellow rainfall has been ideal to give the plants a quick jumpstart towards
Spring, sending shoots off in all directions and enticing some to bloom a little prematurely.
This was a recent afternoon off of West Camino Cielo.
Everything seemed so happy, healthy and clean.
Hiking in an area you’re familiar with after a fire is especially interesting. Without
the 6 to 8 feet of shrubbery surrounding you, everything looks a lot different.
Enjoy it.
