A Solid Start
If you surf, January 2011 has been good.
Real good.
We’ve had more days with surf, than without.
In fact, the days without surfable waves have been few and far between.
Guys that are on it are surfing more than ever, and getting better than ever.
Ian Jenkins, taking the high road..
And while the rest of the country digs out from under ice and snow, here we are,
walking barefoot on the beach. Not too shabby.
January also brought the Rincon Classic and they timed it just right.
The contestants scored perfect Rincon and all were stoked.
That same day, Devereux wasn’t too bad either.
Ian Jenkins back at home after doing the contest thing.
Green glass walls….
This young lady was holding her own in the male dominated Sands lineup.
Watch for rocks!
The end of January looked like Spring had sprung, and the weather felt like it too..
It’s difficult to imagine more rain coming, but I guess it’s possible..
A different day, up the coast. A less than expected swell dribbled in.
Still, surfable nonetheless.
And these guys can have fun on smaller waves than this.
Young Goleta up and comers Vinny Leonelli and Parker Waugh.
Yet another evening at a different Goleta beach.
One guy out on clean glassy peelers.
And these guys practicing the long lost Goleta art of cruising cycles on the beach.
So, here’s to another month of too many waves.
Soak as much of it up as you can, because Summer’s coming….
